How to use the product

The Hydrosols are water based solutions and are part of the aromatherapy family of products. They have been created and used for millennia. They are not medicines, but they have elements and uses that are well known and documented. A lot of information can be found on the internet. Below are some general consideration and they are the basis of why they are included in the blends.

Blend Benefits

Mama Mindful Mix — the rosemary helps with your mental sharpness while the eucalyptus clears your tubes and the lavender oil gives it a final kick of calming aroma.

Application Methods

Like other aromatherapy products how they can be applied varies. The blends will work well in tea light burners, or diffusers or simple sprays. If you do not have these, then there are other ways of getting the benefits:

  • Active "2, 3, 4" breathing — just open the product and take a deep breath (for 2 seconds), then hold it (for 3 seconds), then exhale slowly (for 4 seconds).
  • Pan boil — put it in a pan with a little bit of water and gently simmer it, this will release any of the beneficial aromas.
  • Shot glass — fill half the glass with the blend and the other half with boiling water, this will give an immediate kick (can also be done in a mug or tea cup, but you don't need much).
  • Cloth on a radiator — you can dampen a cloth with it and put it on a warm radiator for a quick one day impact.

Safety Information

Hydrosols are made from pure distilled water, which carry the water soluble elements from the plant that the hydrosol is named after. All the Hydrosols produced are registered as a product on the ECHA database. The formal title and the CAS numbers are below. Almost all hydrosols carry the statement "No hazardous or precautionary statements required". This means that tests have been done on the products and nothing has been found to be harmful.

Plant Origin Latin Name CAS Number Safety Statement
Bay (Laurel) Laurus Nobilis
Eucalyptus Eucalyptus Globulus 84625-32-1 (Hydrosol) No hazardous or precautionary statements required
Lavender Lavandula Angustifolia 8000-28-0 (Oil)
90063-37-9 (Hydrosol)
In high volumes and purity, there are a number of safety requirements (as a flammable oil) and some side effects. In the dilution percentages this is not relevant

No hazardous or precautionary statements required
Rosemary Rosmarinus Officinalis 84604-14-8 (Hydrosol) No hazardous or precautionary statements required
Rowan Berry Sorbus Aucuparia 84776-90-9 (Hydrosol) No hazardous or precautionary statements required

Validity Information

The production date is included on the bottles label. Most hydrosols are best within the first 6 to 9 months, but generally have a 2 year "Use By" date. Keeping the bottles in cool locations, out of the sun (store cupboards etc) keeps them for longer, you can put them in the fridge but it is not necessary.
